The week ahead…

So anyways, I’m writing this in the future, or is it the past? I don’t know, I’m confused!

I’ll back track…As I type, it’s Saturday morning and I’m busy scheduling all of next weeks posts. It’s something I usually do on Sundays, but this Sunday I’ll be painting. I’ll also be painting next Sunday and probably the Sunday after that. I have a lot of wall that needs painting, and now that I’ve finally chosen the perfect off-white (Resene’s Rice Cake and Double Rice Cake…in case you’re interested) I’m keen to get stuck in and remove the evidence of the rejected sample pots I have striped randomly across the walls.

I should be painting today too- it’s the perfect day for it- but instead I’m lunching with some astro pals in the city. As you do. Did someone mention procrastination?

So, the week that was…

On the blog…

Did anyone notice I have new banners? It’s part of the DIY- work in progress- under construction thing that I’ve been gradually re-branding (man, how pretentious does that sound?) for the last little while.

I posted something about the brief I gave my designer (yep, there’s that pretention again…after all, I do have Leo on the 6th house cusp) the other day.

Speaking of Leo on the 6th house cusp, you’ll learn about that house, and the 3rd, the 9th and the 12th next Tuesday in the Toolbox. Last weeks lesson was on the security houses- the 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th

There was also something posted on Mars in Cancer and the Sun in Cancer.

Finally, yesterday (or today, given that I’m writing this on Saturday morning) the first of my occasional series of interviews with other astrologers was posted. I have to admit to a bit of a fan girl moment interviewing the fabulous April Elliott Kent.

Over on and anyways, I posted my usual round up of the week in the Friday Five. You’ll find links to all the weeks posts in there.

To the skies…

The headliner for next week is the Full Moon at (close enough to) 10 Capricorn on July 2 (or late on July 1- depending on where you live). This Capricorn Full Moon is always about the concepts of work-life, career-family. There’s something scheduled on this, but if you want to get a head start on it, find where 9 Capricorn 55’ falls in your chart. You can follow the DIY Full Moon guide here. You might also need to refer to Toolbox 1.1. The symbol you’re after is this one.

The first of the weeks interesting aspects is on Monday, as Uranus and Venus align. Jupiter is just 1 degree away, so still involved in this arrangement.

I’m a bit of a fan of this aspect. Often it clears the way for something a little different, something a little unexpected, something a little exciting…something to break up the business as usual of the day.

Naturally, if you’re a fan of business as usual, you mightn’t treat this aspect with quite the same level of enthusiasm as I do…

Venus and Jupiter finally hook up on July 1. This is a once a year (usually) treat that will this year (because of Venus turning retrograde) be more than once. Anyways, it’s arguably one of the nicest, feel-good planetary meetings there is. Being in Leo, I’m hoping for a good hair day. It’s such a pity that it doesn’t last more than one day.

We drift into Thursday on a fluffy cloud of Neptune dreams as the Sun and Neptune align. Today is about sensitivity, and heightened sensitivity, and awareness of your heightened sensitivity. It’s a day for listening to what your gut and your instincts are telling you. In other words, if you’re the type who likes to analyse and over think things, give yourself a break for a day.

If you need to retreat and make space for yourself away from the noise, do so.

It’s like the lyrics from Passenger’s song Whispers:

Everyone’s filling me up with noise, I don’t know what they’re talking about

You see all I need’s a whisper in a world that only shouts…

It’s in the space that we create that this heightened sensitivity can lead to those bursts of creativity and bright ideas that happen every so often. This opportunity exists on Friday as Mercury and Uranus form a sextile aspect….do with it what you will.

Have a great week…
