Moon in Taurus

Mercury conjunct Pluto

Mercury sextile Jupiter

Ok, so if Mercury is about thought and communications, and Pluto is about depth and intensity, then together this aspect is about deep thought, penetrative thought, lifting the covers on the underlying issues, getting to the buried treasure, perhaps… It’s also a fleeting transit that could, if you need that – and are so inclined – provide you with an opportunity to influence others to your way of thinking.

Given that this is happening in Capricorn, it’s bound to be practical, and given Mercury will go on to sextile Jupiter don’t stop at the small stuff – push your thoughts past what you know and look beyond the horizon to the future.

Of course, you probably won’t do anything about it just yet, but take note for when Mercury is in Aquarius and tomorrow is here already.

Something about deep thinking…

Moon in Pisces

Mercury conjunct Pluto

Ok, so if Mercury is about thought and communications, and Pluto is about depth and intensity, then together this aspect is about deep thought, penetrative thought, lifting the covers on the underlying issues, getting to the buried treasure, perhaps… It’s also a fleeting transit that could, if you need that – and are so inclined – provide you with an opportunity to influence others to your way of thinking.

Given that this is happening in Capricorn, it’s bound to be practical, and given the Moon is in Pisces, the possibilities are limitless.

The Week Ahead…

THE WEEK AHEAD

Hello, it’s me…I was wondering…ooops, no, that’s an Adele song!

Seriously though, it’s been a while. Thanks to those of you who mailed or messaged to ask if things are ok. They are- ok, that is- just manically busy in the partition, at home, with the new book, with…you get the idea. I’m also about to start work on the big freelance job I’ve been doing at this time for the last few years, so am madly trying to schedule things here as well. It is what it is.

Ok, there are some changes on the website I need to talk through with you. I’ve been having some fun, ok, it’s probably more like procrastination, with canva and have created some easy links on the web page. There are links there to the most popular DIY posts, the Tuesday Toolbox, the Catching Stars interviews and the current month featured star sign. It’s all about trying to streamline things. There could even be a new theme, but I’m waiting until Mercury goes direct to make a decision on that.

I’m doing a similar thing on and anyways. That’s going to be moved off the wordpress server and onto the same platform I have this website on. It adds to the expenses, but will allow me to control those pesky ads that show up on wordpress sites and also pop in a portal to sell my books direct. As I’m launching both novels on print on demand this year, this is timely.

As for the week that’s been? Let’s just say that driving through a paint spill the other morning was probably a good indication of what my week was like. We’re away this weekend, so will need to address the accidental racing stripes next week. If you want pics, they were on instagram and are on the weekly round-up on and anyways.

Oh, while I think about it, for those of you who want to keep an eye on what’s happening for yourself, bookmark planetwatcher.com. You can customise it for your time zone and the sorts of things you want to see. There’s also downloadable pdf calendars with what’s happening each month. And no, I get no kick-back from them, but am eternally grateful for this (free) service.

To the skies.

There’s a Full Moon tomorrow. I’m about to get into the car and do a flying visit to Canberra, so unless I get it written on the road, probably won’t be putting up a separate post this month. The link to the DIY Full Moon post is here, and you’ll find a previous Leo Full Moon post here.

The Moon will be full at 3 Leo 29’…or thereabouts.

Also tomorrow, Venus moves into Capricorn- just a few hours before the Full Moon.

What else? Mercury is direct on Tuesday. On the Facebook page I shared a post by AstroSparkles this morning talking about how this one started with a Pluto conjunction and is finishing with one. The third and final Mercury/Pluto hook-up in this arrangement will be next Saturday.

I’m not sure about you, but this rerograde has felt to be very much about business and power. In her post AstroSparkles talks about how the time for thinking is nearly done, with the time for acting just around the corner. I giggled when I read that line as it’s the exact same line that came out of my mouth after a business meeting the other day.

That time is at or around that third conjunction. Review the data, use the data and stick to the bare facts. A sextile between Venus and Neptune just a few hours later may help you be sensitive to the mood of the room, but try not to allow it to lull you into a false sense of security, or tempt you into spin over substance.

A Venus/Neptune sextile is, however, always good for a little light day-dreaming.

Have a great week.

Oh, todays pic? It’s from this time last year when we were in Mooloolaba. On the beach. Aaaaaaah.

Jox

something about the number 9…

Yesterday we talked about the applying square between Mars and Saturn and how it has some pretty mega potential for breakdowns or breakthoughs.

I’m going to add something else to the mix….cos I think you can handle it…

Mercury and Pluto join up tomorrow to do a little networking of their own.

A Mercury/Pluto conjunction is always a time of intense mental hijinks. There is the potential to plan world domination, if that’s what rocks your boat, and influence others into coming along as well.

Whenever Pluto is involved, there is usually an element of paranoia as well. Sometimes this is real, sometimes it’s not. In Capricorn you may react by guarding your IP, or intellectual property so others can’t take credit for your ideas.

Whenever Pluto is involved, there is also usually an element of obsession…so don’t be surprised if you find yourself stuck on an idea…or a judgement.

While this is a relatively short lived transit, it does have the power (there’s another Pluto word) to be an influential (and another…) couple of days.

This is more so because supporting this activity is a conjunction between the Moon and Saturn in sextile to Mercury and Pluto. This is one networking event that you won’t want to miss.

The other thing about all of this activity is that tomorrow Mars, Mercury, Pluto, Saturn and the Moon will all (briefly in the case of the Moon) be sitting at 9 degrees of their respective signs.

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking this can’t be a coincidence.

The number 9 in tarot is, amongst other things, associated with re-assessment. It might be assessment of goals, dreams, feelings, self worth or material success, but re-assessment it is.

It can be the wish card, it can also be the culmination of something. When you see a heap of 9s in a spread it usually indicates that the past is on its way to being well and truly so yesterday, but tomorrow hasn’t yet been decided.

Personally, it’s feeling a little like that to me.

Some of you may see uncertainty and lack of control in that, others may see limitless possibility for transformation and achievement.

I’m thinking it’s one of the many pointers that lead me to think this has the potential to be one hell of a power packed year.

Given that the action is all happening in the 10th (Mercury/Pluto), 8th (Moon/Saturn), 11th (Mars) houses for me, it’s the perfect day to look seriously at my business & financial strategy for 2013.

I’m thinking that I might just use this energy to do a little intention stating- 9 of them to be exact…on post it stickers just like in the picture.

How will you use it?

Can You Handle the Truth?

The other day I had a couple of trees removed from my backyard. Aside from causing damage to the electrical works in our pool area and lifting pavers, neither tree was healthy. We had another tree pruned and dead-wooded in order to help it flourish, and it now looks like a new tree.

Since they have been removed, and the other camphor laurel pruned and shaped, the light and the view is incredible.

When I posted it on Facebook the other day (amongst some comments about eye candy and tree surgeons), a friend asked if I was having a Pluto transit- you know, all the removal of dead wood.

I’m not, at present, but have for the last 5-6 years had a cycle of Pluto transits that is now almost complete:

  • Pluto square Moon (this one went on for ever)
  • Pluto square Saturn (so did this)
  • Pluto sextile Mars (8th) and Mercury (12th)
  • Pluto sextile South Node and trine North node- this one is happening now

I mentioned in a post after Christmas how leaving work and holidaying in Bali felt like a closure of all the crap that had been going down over those last 5-6 years.

Removing the deadwood and opening up the view feels like a metaphorical closure of that and a beginning to something new.

For the last year or so I have resisted doing readings- with work, with my writing, with family, I really didn’t feel that I would be doing the best job by my clients or myself. Things are now different, and from February 1, I will be doing readings again, so if you are interested, please email me (jo@jotracey.com.au) for rates and times. Interestingly since making this decision I have received the first few enquiries for readings in a long time.

Also for the last couple of months I had closed off comments on the website- mainly to discourage the spammers that were having so much amusement at my expense. The silence is, however, deafening, so comments will be open again.

Anyways, to the big transit of the day- the annual hook-up between Mercury and the zodiacs’ enforcement specialist, Pluto.

Mercury= information, communication, messages, data

Pluto= secrecy, power, control, ambition, transformation, truth

Capricorn= serious, mature, timely, business, ambition

Put them together and you get…the next 24 or so hours. You also get a very timely reminder that words can be powerful, have the power to hurt, to heal and to transform.

I was reminded of this during an unrelated conversation earlier this morning. For the next couple of days, think carefully about both the words you use, how you react to those used by others and just what to do with any information you receive. Treat it maturely, treat it responsibly and treat it with respect.

The Moon in Virgo adds a critical and analytic energy to this vibe- can you handle the truth?

Adding to the earthy, practicality in the air at the moment is a trine between the Sun and Mars. This will peak within the next few hours, so if you have any serious planning, forecasting or analytical work that needs to be done, today is a real get it done day.

I am about to visit my local plant nursery to check out some options for landscaping the vacant area that is now around my pool. A blank canvas, in full sun = limitless potential…and a perfect use of all of this earth energy.

Todays photo is something I shot in Bali that reminds me of the beauty of nature. Speaking of beauty, I will pop back in later today to talk about Venus and Neptune…until then…
