I love my Mac. As they say (or is it, as I say?) once you go Mac, you never go back…
When I first purchased it, there was some hesitation- about nothing other than how I would get Solarfire- my astro software- to work.
Sure, I had astrogold for my iphone, but it didn’t have the functionality of the full Solarfire offering. I was determined to get a Mac, and I was determined to make it work.
What followed was three years of juggling virtual windows desktops within my Mac ProBook. Not only was this a pain in the arse, but it slowed down the system, and every time Apple did a major OS upgrade, I’d be forced to purchase an upgrade from the Parallels software I was running.
There was absolutely nothing seamless about the process.
Eventually I stopped using it as much as I had. I found a workaround on astrogold to the return charts I so loved from Solarfire. I got used to juggling my phone with skype on client sessions. Eventually, I was only using Solarfire for location charts.
When Parallels sent through the last upgrade, I didn’t take it up. Finally, when I purchased an Air Book to replace my clunky and way to heavy Pro Book, that was me admitting that I’d never be using Solarfire again.
But part of me hadn’t stopped hoping…
Imagine, then, my elation when an email appeared the other day advising me that astrogold was now available for Mac. Pop the champers, cue the dancing girls and hallelujah chorus.
I purchased it immediately.
Sure, it’s not Solarfire in all its glory- there are no return charts, and no location charts…after all, the full version would normally be a few hundred dollars- but it has what you need for day to day work, it’s affordable, and it’s astrogold for my Mac. I’m still exploring, but I’m excited. Besides, I have a good workaround now for return charts.
- Astrogold for iphone and ipad is available from the itunes store for $39.99 USD. If you only ever buy one astro software app, you can’t go wrong with this one. Dead easy, and there’s an on-line Facebook forum as well.
- Astrogold for Mac OSX is available here. It’s $79.99USD.
Oh, from a fine-print viewpoint- I purchased this using my own coin, and these opinions are mine. I told you that I’m a convert…didn’t I?
