The Week Ahead: Happy Birthday to Me

So anyways, it’s been mad, and now it isn’t.

I turned my book, Baby, It’s You, over to the loving care of my editor, my final copy has been delivered for the big commissioned work I was writing, and the final draft has been completed for manuscript no 2- tentatively titled Big Girls Don’t Cry. It will now be put aside for a few weeks to settle.

Late this evening I have a skype session booked with my cover designer to discuss the final details of that, but for now, I’ll bring you up to speed on what’s happening in the skies this week.

In case you didn’t know, the Moon is currently in Libra. How did I know? I went shopping for a mascara today and walked out with a nail polish, a you beaut primer for under my foundation, a new foundation, an eye shadow compact, the most gorgeous ink blue liner you ever did see, and a mascara. Not only did I buy all that, I faffed around at the counter, and had my face done, and oohed and aahed over brands and packaging. Names, dahling, names. What can I say? I have a Venus Return in just a few hours…

The general consensus was that last week was difficult…challenging…some could say feral. This week is full of aspects involving Mars, so hold onto your hats.

Mars is about energy and action. It can be assertion, or aggression- depending on how you manifest it. It’s a small, but important difference- stand your ground, defend your ground, or look to win more ground. In Aries, Mars burns hot and fast- and will want to win.

We ease (?) into this rather Martian week with a trine to Jupiter on Tuesday. Jupiter makes things bigger- expands what he touches. Add this to energy, and you have a lot of activity. This is a great aspect for getting things done. It’s also one that could get the creative juices flowing. Just how lucky do you feel?

It’s Thursday when the big guns come out to play. This also happens to be my birthday, so I have these two aspects in my Solar Return all year. Hmmm…I’ll post something about that later in the week.

What am I talking about? Mars conjunct Uranus and Mars square Pluto. Yes, that means that the final Uranus square Pluto transit is also in orb. Oh the joy of it all.

I’ve written about it before, but to save you following the links, here’s what I said last time:

This is all about hanging onto things- whether it’s power, the perception of power, a habit, a dream, knowledge, a belief.

It’s about letting go of what we don’t need to be hanging on to, and it’s about knowing the difference.

It’s about doing the same things over and over again and expecting the same result.

It’s about treating knowledge and experience and the way it’s always been done as power and wondering why things are passing you by.

It’s about having the same fight about the same stuff and wondering why it’s not all going away.

It’s about closing your mind against the fear of change and progress and not seeing the possibility.

It’s about tension, and chaos, and headaches

It’s about seeing through the bullshit and into the truth.

It’s about recognising that something or someone or somewhere is now so yesterday and that you’re so tomorrow already.

It’s about dynamic starts, innovations and inspired and future driven beginnings.

It’s about looking at things from a new and possibly radical angle.

It’s about swimming against the tide, and running outside the herd.

It’s about looking forward not back.

It’s about letting go, not hanging on.

It’s about all of these things- and you don’t have to have planets at 13 15 degrees of the cardinal signs to be feeling it.

Is it all bad?

Absolutely not.

Will it be uncomfortable?

Possibly. Probably. Most change is.

And I have it in my solar return…all year. I know I should be concerned, but to be honest, I’m not. I’ve felt something circling for a while, and now I just want to face it. I’ve been scared of lots of things, and this year is going to be about dealing with that. It’s life, in all its textured pain and glory.

The thing is, even if you don’t have a planet at 15 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Cancer, Libra or pretty well anywhere else, we all have 15 Capricorn and 15 Aries somewhere in our chart- it’s those parts of life that the current aspect arrangement is impacting.

Look beyond yourself- it could be someone else in your life with a heap of planets at these degrees in their chart. It could be a partner, a sibling, a parent, a child, a boss, any old person. Transits by association.

If you are impacted? The best way to cope with this one is through a positive use of the energy- and the best positive use for energy that I know of is disciplined training.

Things start to wind down a little of Friday as Mercury moves into dreamy Pisces. I’m looking forward to that one- although I suspect anyone prone to Mercury retrogrades wouldn’t be. Why? Mercury in Pisces can be a little like a Mercury retrograde. It’s one of those ingresses where it’s best to go with the flow, and send your imagination out for a spin.

Until next time…

Jox
