Venus in Sagittarius

Venus is about to move out of steely and intense Scorpio into Sagittarius.

Sagittarius is associated with exploration beyond your boundaries – and when Venus is here it’s about finding pleasure in learning through experiences beyond your usual frae of reference.

Sure this could mean planning a holiday or taking a holiday, but it could also mean reading an unfamiliar genre, or exploring your spirituality, taking your learning to another level. It could mean having fun outdoors, doing some tramping or hiking (Sagittarius is all about using those big muscle groups), gathering a group of friends and trying a new cuisine.

Anyways, if you want to know more about Venus in Sagittarius, I just happened to have prepared something (much) earlier. You’ll find it here.

Doing it for yourself…

We all have Sagittarius somewhere in our chart, and it’s this part of life that Venus will be bestowing her presence on. It’s this part of life that you’ll find pleasure and expansion in. It’s this area of life that you might take up study in, or push your boundaries in. It’s this part of your life that you could find yourself asking yourself ‘why not?’ or ‘how hard can it be?’ It will require faith, but only with discomfort comes growth.

In my chart, Venus is transiting the 10th house (I’m working with whole houses more and more these days). I’m already into production planning for next year, but more from a take a goal and double it viewpoint. It matches the message I saw written on the toilet wall in the cafe I work in each Friday:

Dream Big – Work Harder

(As an aside, it wasn’t a graffiti message – one wall in each toilet is painted in blackboard paint and there are buckets of chalk attached to the walls.)

Anyway, the thing is, I’m really aiming high and wide and trying things I haven’t done before.

If you don’t have your chart, read this post on how to get one.

If you don’t know what the houses mean, check out series 1 of the Toolbox or this post.

If you don’t have any idea about your birth time, or can’t be faffed working it out, you can follow the solar guide:

  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Sagittarius, Venus will be transiting your 1st house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Capricorn, Venus will be transiting your 12th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Aquarius, Venus will be transiting your 11th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Pisces, Venus will be transiting your 10th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Aries, Venus will be transiting your 9th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Taurus, Venus will be transiting your 8th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Gemini, Venus will be transiting your 7th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Cancer, Venus will be transiting your 6th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Leo, Venus will be transiting your 5th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Virgo, Venus will be transiting your 4th house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Libra, Venus will be transiting your 3rd house.
  • If your Sun or Ascendant is in Scorpio, Venus will be transiting your 2nd house.

Venus will be in Sagittarius until 4/2/19.

  1. Hi Jo! Happy New Year and New Monday!
I also have started working more with whole signs so this puts Venus in Sag in my 2nd house. While pondering al the 2nd house meanings I realized it could pretty much cover anything in my life. and that right there was an expansive big picture Jupiter in Sag view, haha. I guess I am wondering how to fine tune the meaning here.
I do have plans to raise my rates by end of Feb/start of March and stepping way out of my comfort zone to offer self treatment classes.
The ruler of my 2nd house is in the 12th in Libra and has been opposed off and on for some time by Uranus.
Venus rules the 12th and the 7th.
Natal venus in the 8th tightly conjunct mars.
Obviously I am curious what Uranus going direct will have in store for me!
Sorry if its too much…I do tend to ramble on 😉
Anyway, I am glad to have received your newsletter, your future plans sound great and I look forward to future emails.
For now I will continue to peruse your blog and see what else I can learn about!
Ahoy from the Eastern Coast of America

    1. Waving at you Kim from the other side of the world. What you’re proposing sounds perfect for a Venus transit of your 2nd. It’s about what your worth is & stepping out of your comfort zone. Best wishes with it all…and thanks for reading!
