Venus in Aries: Woman On A Mission

Venus moves into Aries today – in fact she’d already have been there a few hours as this goes to press. Because she goes retrograde this year (I told you all about that here) the stay in Aries is an extended one – about 4 months all up.

She’ll retreat back into Pisces for about 6 weeks (as you do) around March 4th before heading back into Aries on April 29th. She won’t be finished in Aries until the first week in June – around the 6th/ 7th (depending where in the world you are).

Aries isn’t a place that Venus feels terribly comfortable in. Venus, you see, likes to attract and be pleased, and in Aries she goes after what she wants and knows how to please herself. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that – I have Venus in Aries and it’s one of the favourite planet placements in my chart – it’s just that this is a different mode of behavior for Venus.

If you want to know a bit more about this placement, or there’s an Aries woman in your life you’d like to try and understand better, check out this post.

Doing it for yourself…

We all have Aries somewhere in our chart, and it’s this part of life that Venus will be bestowing her presence on. It’s this part of life that you’ll find pleasure and expansion in. It’s this area of life that you might want to take the initiative and actively go after what you want, rather than waiting for it to come to you. All the fire signs are creative and stimulating, so look for that influence in whatever part of life Venus is moving through for you.

In my chart, Venus will begin her transit of Aries in the 1st house, and finish it in the 2nd. When Venus crosses your Ascendant, it’s a great time to take a good look at, well, your look. Given the retrograde, though, don’t make any changes that are so drastic they can’t be undone until after Venus goes direct again. I’ve been toying with getting a small tattoo on my wrist for years – a lotus. I also want a rambling rose on my foot. I’d decided it could be my 50th birthday present to myself, but, given the retrograde, I’ll hold off on that until after Venus is direct.

If you don’t have your chart, read this post on how to get one.

If you don’t know what the houses mean, check out series 1 of the Toolbox or this post.
