The Week Ahead…

So anyways, as I write this I’m waiting for paint to dry- literally. I’m still on the search for the perfect off-white to paint my entrance, kitchen, family and TV rooms in. It’s one big space, you see, and it gets the light in different ways along the length, so a colour that looks great against the kitchen tiles is washed out by the time it gets to the back door, and the colour that looks great on the opposite wall is way too grey and muddy against the tiles.

After multiple trips to the hardware and multiple tins of sample paints over the last few weeks, I think I’ve narrowed it down to one shade in two different strengths. Finally. I’ve painted it in large blocks, so we’ll see how it settles over the week.

I’ve deliberated longer over this decision than I usually do when it comes to paint colours- there’s a standing joke in our family that I’ve substantially reduced the square footage of our house through the multiple paint jobs it’s had. The thing is, this large area has been the same buttery cottage cream for a dozen or so years, and the colour has aged. Also, we’re contemplating selling in the next 12 months or so- depending on a number of different factors- so I’m trying to freshen everything up now and bring it all into the same colour family as the two bedrooms I’ve recently done.

In any case, I’m aware that it’s a nice problem to have.

What else? To see what else I got up to over the week, check in on the Friday Five over at so anyways. I also popped up an update (that so doesn’t sound right) on Melbourne Street Art.

Also over there was a little something on so anyways about the location scouting that I do for my fiction. Speaking of which- thank you to everyone who has bought Baby It’s You. I’m refusing to read reviews (I’m such a scaredy cat), but did sneak a look at the sales this afternoon…so thank you.

Ok, to the skies.

Saturn moves back into Scorpio tomorrow.

What does this mean? Basically it’s like the revision test that you do when you’ve already passed your exams to check that you really truly did learn your stuff and not just memorise it.

The focus goes from one of learning to fly back to facing up to the root cause of what is wrong. Scorpio can be so incredibly fixed that they’ve been known to get through an issue, shrug and say something like, ‘you were wrong, I got away with that without needing to change anything.’ The problem is when same thing resurfaces- because what should have happened was the life equivalent of a post implementation plan and a deep dive (that’s corporate bingo lingo for getting below the surface) to the real cause of the problem.

You have between now and 19th September to do what you should have done then. Saturn is the teacher who won’t allow you to graduate until he’s sure you’ve absorbed what you need to, and made the structural changes he’s prescribed.

As a hint, the ground that’s being covered now, was last passed through by Saturn in the middle few weeks of December last year. If you have planets or chart points at or around the last couple of degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Pisces, Cancer, Virgo or Capricorn, Saturn will be revisiting these in the next couple of months.

What else?

There’s a New Moon in Gemini on Tuesday (most of the world) or early Wednesday (East Coast Australia, New Zealand). There’ll be something up about that tomorrow. The New moon newsletter (for subscribers) will be out on Tuesday.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Toolbox Tuesday on, wait for it, Tuesday. This week we’re looking at the Cross of Matter.

Also, on Thursday, I have a DIY transit post scheduled (be warned, it’s long and wordy) on Uranus- Venus conjunctions. It should be one that anyone with Venus in Aries will want to have a look at.

Until next time, have a great week…
