Something about Venus in Cancer, Neptune retrograde & full tummies…

Miss 15 is doing work experience next week. It’s an opportunity for kids to road test different careers.

All she knows is that she doesn’t want to work in an office. That’s fine- she has plenty of time.

Anyways, she needs clothes to wear “to work,” so the three of us go shopping. And that’s when the trouble started.

Miss 15 is an Aries with Venus (conjunct Uranus) in Aquarius, and Mr T is a strong willed Scorpio with Venus in Libra. It’s at this point I count to 10.

He complains that she doesn’t like pretty clothes and dresses and things that match. She complains that he tries to tell her what to wear. I read the riot act to both of them.

As far as I’m concerned, her taste is her taste and it suits her. It’s individual to her in a rock chick sort of way. But with Capricorn on the Ascendant, she’s never going to stray too far, and wear skulls, studs and bovver boots to work, so I figure why push it?

Speaking of all things Venus, Venus moves into Cancer tomorrow, joining Mercury in this Moon ruled sign.

Cancer, as we know, is nourishing and feminine. Cancer’s Venusian archetype is the apple pie Mum. Venus is about what makes us feel good, and when Venus is in Cancer, having a warm, full tummy will do the trick when a little nurturing (or self-nurturing) is required.

Now, before you all write to me, I know that there are some Cancer Venus types out there who don’t cook- and some who don’t comfort eat, even. My Nan was one of them- I don’t think I ever saw her cook anything that didn’t involve a can opener. Having said that, I don’t think I ever saw her eat anything either- there’s an astrological reason for that too…but I digress. Nan was, however, the ultimate nurturer- family was everything. She fed others- just not herself.

All other things being equal, Venus in Cancer needs to nurture something or someone in order to feel good about herself. This might be a child, a business, a protégée, a furry baby, a website…something.

Likewise family- it’s important… but it just may not be your birth family that you regard as being your family.

The other big mover this week is Neptune, who is slowly drifting into reverse.

During the retrograde period, Neptune becomes more Neptunian. Your intuition will be heightened and you may suddenly get insights into something you have been struggling with. Seeing things clearer, you may no longer be able to deny truths that you have been…well, denying- something that I personally do an awful lot of. Sometimes it can be hard to listen to what we need to listen to- and that is where the escapist nature of Neptune may also come into play.

During the retrograde period you may be more inclined to run away into whatever is your favourite way of escaping. Not a great idea- you will have to emerge from the self induced alcoholic haze (or is that just me) at some point & see reality for what it is.

Who is affected? Pisces, Pisces, Pisces. Anyone with a Pisces Sun, Moon or Ascendant will become even more essentially Piscean. At this point I should issue a general warning for anyone & everyone who knows me! Also impacted is anyone with lots of planets in the 12th house and especially people with planets at around 2-5 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius.

  1. I’ve got Uranus on the MH at 4 59′ Virgo, and MH is 5 34′ Virgo, so Neptune is sitting on my IC. What do you get about Neptune opposing Uranus?

    1. I’d look more at Neptune on the IC & Neptune opposing the MC. I’ll pop something up about is in the next couple of days- essentially you’ll be struggling for focus on the career field and things will be in a state of flux- but to do it justice takes more words than this! Everyone your age has Neptune opposing Uranus. Essentially again clarity is disputed- this time, it’s your vision of you should be that’s unclear.
