Outsourcing and Colonics? Leo on the cusp of Houses 2-6

A few years ago now, Saturn went through my 6th house and, aside from the usual Saturn 6th house transit stuff, some rather disturbing events occurred in my personal life:

  • My beautician decided to have a baby and close her shop- maintenance activities had to be transitioned back in-house
  • My hair-dresser sold up and joined his wife to open a child care centre. Given that my hair is a walking guaranteed cash flow for most hairdressers, this one hurt.
  • The lady who was cleaning my house without chemicals moved to Wollongong- this activity had to be brought back in house as well.
  • My chiropractor retired
  • The man at work who cleaned the car and delivered the keys back to reception and left a little chocolate in the console sold up. Given that this activity was never coming back in house, the replacements have taken some amount of training to come back up to scratch.
  • The management stream changed at work and things became very business as usual.

Reading through this, it almost sounds as if my life is outsourced. With Leo on the cusp of my 6th, I guess there is a tendency towards this. When Virgo is on the cusp of the 6th, you like to be of service, with Leo on the 6th you prefer to have servants…so to speak…and there is a certain amount of pride in your ability to do this.

Sort of like that episode of Absolutely Fabulous where Saffy tells Eddy that someone tells her what to wear, what to eat and then once a week someone shoves a hose up her bum and sucks it all back out of her “it’s colonic irrigation Sweetie…it’s not to be sniffed at…”

Perhaps Eddy has Leo on the cusp of her 6th house as well…which would make her a Pisces Ascendant…which, come to think of it, with her rather endearing (to a Pisces anyway) addictions and escape mechanisms makes a certain amount of sense.

Sure Saturns’ transits through my 6th made me re-think the stuff I had outsourced (amongst other 6th house concerns)…and for a long time those activities were brought back in house, but I have gradually been doing the queenly thing again lately.

In any case, with Leo on the cusp of the 6th, your sense of identity and focus is probably tied up with your work- whatever that happens to be. You would prefer to have some authority over others (or at the very least self determination) than to spend your days negotiating over which lunch you are going on (the early, middle or late)- wherever the Sun rules is where you want to be seen to shine. There is pride in your accomplishments.

Given that the 6th is also about health and vitality, when work is not going well, neither is your health. Speaking of which, when you are ill, you want the attention- which is of course your due. A head cold? Surely it is so much more than that?

The 6th house also tells us lots about what we eat and how we like to eat it. With Leo on the cusp of this house, you like a meal to be a ceremony, and when you feed others, you do so lavishly, with abundance and (with Pisces Rising) usually plenty of alcohol. You prefer your food to be hot, rather than cold, and will buy and eat the best that you can afford and will make an event out of eating out.

So, what about Leo on the cusp of other houses?

Leo on the cusp of the 5th house

With Leo on the cusp of the 5th, you are the life of the party- which, is, of course, all about you anyway. Your Sun (regardless of the sign it is in) rules this area of life and you shine in romance, at play, with your kids. A romantic at heart, you also look for drama in your love life and have tremendous pride in your kids.

If your ability to express yourself is compromised, your vitality will be lower as a result. But, if the accolades which are your due continue to come your way, and if you have plenty of creative projects underway, your enthusiasm and lust for life will be riding high.

Leo on the cusp of the 4th house

I’ll be lounging on the couch just chilling in my Snuggie

Click to MTV so they can teach me how to dougie

‘cause in my castle I’m the freakin’ man

(Lyrics from Bruno Mars “The Lazy Song”_

With Leo on the cusp of the 4th house, your home is your castle and you are proud of it. Just like Daryl Kerrigan in the hit Aussie movie The Castle. The Kerrigan house is a ramshackle, disjointed group of assorted and unfinished do it yourself renovations directly under the flight path at Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne. But Daryl is inordinately proud of his home…King of his own castle.

Your home is where you express yourself and where your creative focus and style lies. Your pride and ego is tied closely into home  (and home ownership) and family and this in turn, reflects very much in your self worth.

With Leo on the cusp of the 4th, you love to entertain at home- and when you do, you will show them all a grand time indeed!

Leo on the cusp of the 3rd House

You are one charismatic communicator. Your thoughts and words have the warmth, generosity of spirit and sheer style that is pure Leo. Your sense of creativity and self expression (and drama) is centred in head stuff.

You are proud of your ability to communicate, so this is also where you are most vulnerable from an ego viewpoint as well.

Leo is, however, a fixed sign, so whilst you might know how to say the stuff that you say, and how to say it in a way that suits your audience, you very rarely change your mind. Did someone say “stubborn”?

This house is also associated with siblings, and whilst we all know you will come first, you will be generous and loyal when it comes to any siblings.

Say it loud, say it proud.

Leo on the cusp of the 2nd house

The 2nd house is about the stuff you have and the things you value. The Sun is your ego and your self esteem. So, it follows that with Leo on the cusp of the 2nd house, what you have, what you earn, how you earn it and what you do with what you earn is very closely tied to your self esteem.

Financial matters and creativity are closely linked and you are proud of what you have and what you know in this area. The fixed nature of Leo is such that what you have you like to hold onto…ideas and values are rarely changed.

Still to come: Leo on the Ascendant, and through houses 7-12.

  1. I have leo on the cusp of my 6th. Indeed how you describe it. And I have always been known to shine in the gym, training, marathons, fitness competitions. Sun in Sag.
