The New Moon is all about fresh starts and projects, new endeavours. Capricorn is about practicality and goal setting and hard work and discipline. So, the New Moon in Capricorn is actually the best time to be starting out on any resolution- no matter how drunk you were when you made it. The Universe has given us a New Moon after New Years Eve simply so that we can re-assess what we stupidly announced to all and sundry when we were in party mode.
According to the whole Law of Attraction thing, we should now, for the New Moon, be writing down what we want- clearly and positively. Avoid stating what you don’t want & what you want to lose- the Universe isn’t great on little words and really only sees the big stuff so:
- I want to lose 20kgs may be seen as 20kgs…. hmmmm
- I don’t want a job where I am dealing with painful people as job with painful people
Instead be clear about what you do want:
- I have released 20kgs back into the wild
- I run 10kms
- I have a publishing contract
- I am financially independent
- I am happy
- I am doing a job a feel passionate about
This year, we have an eclipse as well (see yesterday’s blog).
The Moon in Capricorn is said to be in the sign of her detriment, ie she isn’t very happy. Why? Because Capricorn is very much about structure and discipline and the Moon is nourishing, full & unstructured. Yet both contain “stuff” to some degree- the Moon holds and grows emotions and feelings & Capricorn goals & ambitions.
Saturn, the ruler of this New Moon is exalted in Libra and forms a challenging and intensifying square to the Moon and Sun. Mars, exalted in Capricorn, provides a powerful link to the Sun and Moon. Change is not only possible, but unavoidable.
Jupiter & Uranus over in Pisces are forming the last in their series of conjunctions. This will be exact within hours of the New Moon. Anything is possible, expect the unexpected, and look for the breakthroughs. With a trine across to Venus in Scorpio, there is amazing potential for great things. This is particularly exciting for me as the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is exact on the degree (well, within an orb of less than 20’) of my natal Moon. If I ever needed a reason to get moving I have it! If ever there was a time to step out of your comfort zone and dive off the edge of your life (I love that line, it’s from a song called Love The Fall by Michael Paynter)…
For everyone else, Venus/Jupiter trines are usually pretty lucky… read into that what you will!
Anyways, back to work tomorrow, back to routines & back to heels & make-up. Swim squad is back for Five Foot Nothing (who is now taller than me, so I guess I will have to change her nickname) & so the time juggling begins again.
The only question that remains is why there is a mannequin in the boot of my car dressed in what appears to be the uniform of a certain financial institution? And the next question? HOW LONG IS IT GOING TO STAY IN THERE??????????? Hmmmm Chucky indeed.
