Today I went & saw The Social Network– pretty apt for a Sag Moon sort of day really.

Weirdly enough, we all enjoyed the movie. I thought the screenplay was brilliant, the others just liked it. Even hubby, whose taste usually runs to stuff that either I won’t watch with him or straight to DVD Steven Segall movies loved it…& he has never even seen a facebook page.

Afterward, over coffee, we were trying to decide what we thought of him, ie Mark Zuckerberg- which I sort of don’t really like to do. Being one who has problems with personal feedback & hates when I know there is someone out there who doesn’t like me, I don’t really like to speculate about the motives of others either…but I guess billionaires & really famous people sort of expect it- do they?My Cancer friend decided he had no empathy so therefore she didn’t like him & anyway, he betrayed his only friend. Her Sagittarian husband (Cap Moon) absolutely loved him & decided that in this day & age where everyone figures they thought of something first, you may as well pay up & be done with it. My Scorpio hubby was convinced he was powered by revenge. Being the only Pisces around the table, I just felt sorry for everyone except the 2 rich & good looking college guys whose names escape me because I don’t believe in elitism & exclusivity & we wouldn’t have Facebook if it was up to them.

Then, of course, the conversation turned to his birth chart. My neighbour argued for Gemini, I thought possibly an Air Sun (I originally tossed around with Taurus, but he didn’t seem to care enough about “stuff”) with Scorpio in there somewhere…yep…I detected a hint of revenge as well. So, what sign is he? I couldn’t find a birth time on line, but wikipedia lists his birth date as May 14, 1984. This makes him a Taurus Sun with a difficult Moon conjunct Saturn in Scorpio & a beautifully revengeful Scorpio Mars (I can say that ‘cos I know mine can be…revengeful, that is!).

Anyways, I am not going into the chart too much- others do that much better than I (check out pages on Astrotheme and Mountain Astrologer … plus many more if you google it)- just thought it was interesting on a pretty slow news day astrologically speaking.

In the skies? The Moon moves into Capricorn at about 5.30pm tomorrow afternoon, with her first stop being the monthly hookup & power fest with Pluto (in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Sydney time). This is all leading into a powerhouse of a New Moon & eclipse just after 7pm (Sydney time) on Wednesday at 13 Capricorn 38. More on this tomorrow, but essentially this will be about you getting super serious about whatever part of life this falls in for you. In my case it falls in my 10th house, or career/public zone, but makes no aspects of any great interest to any of my natal planets, so I am being a bit it’s all about me & the rest is ho hum….yep selfish.

This will, however, be of great interest to you if you have planets or chart points (eg Ascendant, Midheaven etc) falling anywhere between, say, 11 & 16 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra. Yep, the cardinal signs. Hmmm, I had better warn my Cap sister- she has her Ascendant at 13 Aries40’…

Just to get a little technical on you, eclipses run in cycles called Saros Cycles. This one belongs to a cycle called 13 North, with the 1st eclipse in this cycle being back in 1776. The most recent was the eclipse of December 1992. Referencing Bernadette Brady’s The Eagle & The Lark, this series has,  the energy of “large ambitious group projects…”  She further writes “the individual may well experience this eclipse initially as a separation and then as a joint achievement.” (If you want to know more about the Saros Cycles & eclipse dates from 1900-2050, check out The Eagle & the Lark.)

It is, however, well to remember that eclipses are often not about immediate activity, but something that does spark within a period of time after the eclipse occurs. Check out April Elliot Kent’s Big Sky Astrology for some really cool information around timing eclipses.

In the meantime, we are in the Balsamic Dark Moon phase, so finish off what needs to be finished off, throw out any Xmas chocolates that you know you won’t be able to resist- the Capricorn New Moon is the real start date for those resolutions…With both Mars and Saturn exalted in Capricorn & Libra respectively, this is a real powerhouse of a New Moon.
