Daily Planets Wednesday 20/4/11 Oh Stop It!

I’m not even going to pretend to do a planetary update today…except to say that the Moon is in Scorpio & the usual transformative or intense feelings and emotions will be out & about.

Last night we watched the Full Moon rise from behind Mitre Peak, the tallest mountain in Milford Sound, NZ, where we spent the night. We stood freezing on the open deck in the dark, watching more stars than I can recall seeing in many years and seals diving around the boat in search of fish attracted by the boats lights. It was an amazing experience.

The whole drive has so far been amazing. Yesterday morning we woke in Queenstown to find the first snow dump of the season on top of The Remarkables…which are truly remarkable. The snowscape continued most of the way into Te Anau, but at Milford Sound (where it counted) the sky was clear & blue…a rarity. The result was some picture perfect photos.

Today we had more amazing photo opps, more incredible scenery, more OMG it’s awesome “just stop it” moments. Here are just a few. Mount Cook tomorrow.
