Daily Planets Sunday 10/10/10: Wow, 3 10′s in a row and a Butterflier!
Saturday, October 9th, 2010And you know what, commenting on the date is about as exciting as it will get tomorrow, and that isn’t even really a planetary thing.
The Moon is still in intensive care in Scorpio and by tomorrow will be doing the 3 in a bed thing with Venus and Mars. Aaah, I notice some eyes opening in interest at that one….
So, in the absence of much else to talk about I figure we can look at transformation…pretty appropriate under a Scorpio Moon?
Watching the Commonwealth Games last night from Delhi, I was amazed to see the comeback of Geoff Huegill (known in the Aussie swim camp as Skippy), an Australian swimmer at the Commonwealth Games. (His chart is below- I don’t know his birth time, so have cast the chart for midday.)

After coming 8th at the Olympics in 2004, Huegill retired from the sport, and seriously, as a butterflier, it wouldn’t take a huge amount to decide you were over it. Anyways, in line with his Taurus Moon, Geoff (then 25, a good age for a swimmer to hang up the goggles) did some serious investing in pizzas and beers and piled on over 40 kgs.
But then in 2008 he lost all that weight, (there is no stopping a Taurus Moon once it decides to change a habit), and figured he may as well make a comeback. With a Pisces Sun and Mars absolutely anything is possible- even the impossible. Last night the fairy tale was complete as he powered home at the age of 31 in the 50m butterfly in a new Games record. Nine years since he last won gold in this event (2001 World Championships).
Don’t you love it when a plan comes together? Maybe my swimming career isn’t over after all…even at 43….

Hey, I just realised…butterfly- transformation….get it? Yep, pretty lame.
