Daily Planets Wednesday 23/2/11 Christchurch
The last time I was in Christchurch was actually my very 1st trip to NZ. I have been back many times, in fact almost annually, but this was the first and like all firsts, special. It was September 2003 and the three of us did a roadtrip around the South Island. So long ago that I was still running print film in my Pentax SLR. The prints don’t scan real well…sorry about that. I remember it costing me a fortune to get them all developed.
Today the 2nd major earthquake in 6 months struck. The last one, deep under the Canterbury Plains, caused substantial structural damage but no loss of life. This one, shallower (well, in geological terms) hit in Lyttleton Harbour, in the Banks Peninsular and has resulted in many fatalities. Our hearts go out to the Kiwis. To the skies. The Moon is about to move into Scorpio. By now you know the deal about this. Intensity is raised a notch or two, paranoia and suspicions may be raised a notch or two and emotions may run higher and deeper than normal.
Mars is in the final degree of Aquarius and will shortly be joining the plethora of planets congregating in Pisces. Perfect for sensitivity, empathy and digging deep to help the earthquake victims. The Moon in Scorpio will link across to each of these points over the next 24 hours.
Jupiter & Pluto are drawing ever closer to a pretty interesting square off. Pluto is deep and intense and underworld whilst Jupiter is big…and, in Aries, sudden. More on this one over the next few days.
