Daily Planets Thursday 14/10/10: Healing It and Faking It

As I write this the Moon has moved into Capricorn and is about to conjunct Pluto- what better aspect could there possibly be for tunnelling (Pluto) through (Earth) to bring those Chilean miners back to the surface? And the world is watching (Moon conjunct Pluto).

We see this aspect every month (Moon conjunct Pluto), and every month for a few hours the Moon becomes quite Scorpionic in nature. When the Moon makes contact with a planet, she takes some of the essence of that planet for the length of the transit. Sure the aspect gives you an idea of the nature of the transit, but it is the contact itself that is important. In the case of the conjunction, the energies of the Moon and Pluto are fused together. It is for this reason that emotional experiences under this transit are intense and Plutonic in nature. In fact, it is probably the best day of the month to see a therapist or healer or at the very least engage in some deep and meaningful analysis with anyone who will listen.

The square aspect between the Moon and Saturn, Mercury and the Sun over the next 24 hours is not so clear cut. Whilst the Moon is touched by the energy of these 3 planets, the aspect is challenging and requires some effort to make work. A square is a 90 degree right angle, so quite tense in nature- sort of like walking around a corner to slam head first into someone.

The Moon/Saturn square is in particular a grey one. Given that the Moon is already pretty down being in Capricorn, the sign which Saturn rules, she has very little strength to resist the siren call of Saturn’s negativity. Tomorrows challenge will be to fight back against negativity and feelings of downheartedness. For every one self deprecating thing you say or think, say or think one really nice thing about yourself- even if you have to make it up. Fake a smile- by the time the transit has gone you might actually mean it.
