Daily Planets Saturday 28/8/10
I spent last night in one of my other, less well known roles- that of Corporate Wife- at a fundraiser for a local special education school. Sure we had a lovely dinner and some great entertainment, but at the end of the night, I left with an amazing appreciation for what these teachers are trying to do. To be honest, I was also a little envious of “the calling”- you know, when you really feel like you were put on earth to do something that will mean something to somebody else. It must really be overwhelming to see the light in those kids eyes as they master something that other kids (& teachers & parents) take for granted.
I seem to be surrounded by charity in recent days. My neighbours have taken up fostering Guide Dogs, well aspiring Guide Dogs. This is a great program whereby they take on the dog and its care and training for short periods of time while its regular carer is away. This has a number of benefits, not least socialisation of the dogs within different environments and now my pampered pooch will have a series of new friends & walking companions.
On the dog subject I sat next to a lovely lady last night who is very heavily and practically involved in one of my personal favourite charities and political lobby groups- that of rescue dogs and legislation around how animals can be sold.
I figure that all of this charity is a function of the Sun now being deep in Virgo territory and the last few days trining Pluto- at 1st hand I saw how people really can make a difference. It made me want to do something as well- to make a difference for someone else, that is. Also, I just remembered, one of the things that Virgo and the 6th house is associated with is companion animals…so there we go, astrology in real life!
Anyways, today the sun is shining, the Moon is in Aries and it is a gorgeous sunny late winters day here in Sydney. A perfect day to be out and about. I am off to get the hair maintenance thing happening- I seriously am a walking cash flow for hairdressers these days, and in my own little way, proud of the contribution I make to local business in this way
…whatever. Being an Aries Moon I will no doubt be even more impatient at the enforced sitting than I usually am!
By midnight tonight (mid afternoon in the northern hemisphere), the Moon will oppose both Mars and Venus. This may bring excitement, irritation, indulgence and extravagance…the perfect ingredients for a big Saturday night out, really! Wherever you are, enjoy the energy and use it wisely… or not, as the case may be!
