Lost for words…

I’m lost for words.

My words have gone.

Not here, and not on my other blog, but in every other way that matters, my words have gone. I wrote about it here.

I’m hoping that with Mercury in Taurus, my words have just been hanging out on the lounge watching re runs of The West Wing and other peoples good writing. I’ve been hoping that they’ve just been taking it a little easy.

I have Neptune wafting around the edges of natal Mercury, but this is more impacting my imagination- which is running overtime- than my words. I’ll write more about this later, but Neptune conjunct (natal) Mercury is sending my dreams well into mini series mode.

It also has me waiting for calls that aren’t coming, and is sending my intuition into overdrive. I’m finding that extremely uncomfortable, as I’m getting messages about others, possibly for others, and I can’t seem to shut it out. And yes, I know that I shouldn’t be, trying to shut it out, but I’m still vainly trying to grasp control of what’s in my head.…I’m rambling now.

My brain is still working well enough to blitz last weeks football trivia night, but I’m finding everything else is seriously Neptunian.

Anyways, Mercury is about to move into Gemini, the sign that it rules. And that’s a Good Thing. I’m hoping that it will kick the arse of the words that are lolling lazily in my brain being fed on comfort food, and will allow them to, if not make their way out of my throat, then at least out of my fingers onto the keyboard.

Things My Parents Taught me…

Sunday, September 9th, 2012

My Mum always had rules- you know, those irrefutable can’t be argued with truths.

Stuff like “if you knit a jumper for a man you’ll never marry him.”

Hmmm. I never tested that one- partly because I couldn’t be faffed knitting for anyone other than myself and partly because I was interested in cohabitation not matrimony. In those days. And, for the record, I’ve never knitted my husband a jumper, nor is there much likelihood of me doing so. Incidentally, knitting is a very Gemini activity- it’s about the hands you see…

Most of Mums sayings were in a similar vein. I never really paid a lot of attention. She doesn’t have the internet so she’ll never read this. I’m safe.

My Dads sayings have always had more practicality.

Things like “never get into business with friends or family”, or “never lend money to friends or family.” Dad’s an old bankie (Scorpio Sun and Capricorn Moon) so most of his wisdom revolves around money. Except for this one: the team that scores first after half time always wins.

I’ve been using this ever since the Canterbury vs Manly game many years ago when he told me. Canterbury were leading 20-nil at half time, and when Manly went over the line soon after, Dad said “we’re in trouble Joey, they scored first after half time.” (I was a Canterbury supporter back then- it was before SuperLeague & before the Coffs Harbour rape allegations).

Today, though, my team, the Raiders won after their opponents scored first after half time. What does this mean? Is this the end of civilisation as I know it? Maybe this was what the Mayans predicted…

Or maybe it’s a last burst of Gemini Moon energy- like how I started playing SongPop this afternoon or Gems with friends. Maybe it actually means nothing other than I need something to write about.

In any case, the Moon is applying to Saturn, so some sensibility will come into the discussion…like how the Moon will be in Cancer for the next couple of days- another red flag for potential diet disasters and road rage incidences.

But to tell you all of that would mean that I would need to concentrate on the bigger picture and for now, the little stuff is calling… like gems with friends- my newest addiction

Until next time…

DIY and the Gemini Moon

lime blossoms

So there I was trying to fix the garage door- it had blown open in the wind.

But where was the masking tape? The string? Duct tape even? Our garage is a pig sty (naturally I blame my husband…) so I couldn’t find any occy straps (sorry, octopus straps). Hence the masking tape- which I’m sure I’d seen in the 2nd drawer of the kitchen.

Before I knew it, the contents of not only the 2nd drawer, but all of the kitchen drawers was on the kitchen bench. Ladies and gentlemen, Virgo Sun de-cluttering in action.

The Moon is now in Gemini and squaring off, as we speak to Neptune. Moon/Neptune squares can often be difficult emotionally- especially if you don’t have Neptune well integrated in your chart natally. Fantasies have a tendency under this (thankfully) brief transit, to be mistaken for reality. Don’t worry, those of us who have Neptune/Moon natally live with this daily. It can be kind of fun- and certainly very creative.

In the background has been the Sun squaring Jupiter. This is Big…with a capital B. This is one extravagant transit- and one we should still be feeling tomorrow. The only danger with Jupiter squares is, of course, excess. Yep. Possibly why I got into such a de-cluttering frenzy. Whatever.

Oh, the garage door has been properly fixed now- I found the powertools. Nothing is gonna move that baby now…or open it- but that’s another issue. After that I took some photos of my garden. I’m in a bit of a photo mood. In fact, tomorrow I am off to explore some of the historical sites of Sydney with my camera lens and a sparkly Gemini friend.

I’ll post the results here.

group

Each month my writers group meets. Over coffee we share stories of pitching success, frustration over black hole syndrome, compare notes about editors who respond quickly, editors who respond slowly and editors who quite simply don’t respond. We share ideas, tips and support.

Today we covered everything from writing for magazines to novels to copywriting to historical saga and erotic fiction and schooling. Yes folks, the Moon is in Gemini.

I then came home and dealt with more detail as I prepared outer planet ingress tables (that’s just a technical term for the dates that Saturn through to Pluto changed signs in the years between 1940 and now) for my manuscript. All the while with The Gruen Transfer playing as distraction noise in the background and sourcing recipes for chicken teriyaki tonight. How very Moon in Gemini.

Anyways, that was one detailed job I was glad to see the back of.

Speaking of seeing the back of things, we are in the balsamic, dark phase of the Moon- the time that I tell you every month to finish off stuff that needs to be finished off.

New Moons always start a new cycle, but this New Moon (at 28 Gemini 43’) is important for a few other reasons:

  • It is the 2nd New Moon in Gemini this year- and anytime the Universe repeats something there is a message in it
  • It falls just a day before the Winter/Summer Solstice point and solstices are the ultimate turning points
  • Saturn is about to end his 5 month retrograde (go back and think again) period, so its now time to get serious and take steps towards your goal. Mercury in Cancer is holding onto something that needs to be let go of in order to move forward.

So, the usual deal. Check out planets and chart points at or around 26-29 Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces… and Libra, Aquarius, Aries and Leo.

And todays photo? A montage of the #photoaday from the last few days. For more of these and the words behind them, check out and anyways…

Until next time…

The technical details? The New Moon is exact at:

June 20

1.02am Sydney

3.02am NZ

June 19

8.02am LA etc

11.02am New York etc

3.02pm London

11.02pm WA, KL etc

Too Easy?

comp001

Tomorrow Jupiter moves out of Taurus and into Gemini.

For those of us who are heavily influenced by the moods of Jupiter (take the test on Donna Cunningham’s site- links are here) this may be an opportunity to broaden the mind rather than the hips…yes, that did come out loud.

I have struggled with motivation and mojo over this last 12 months or so. It has seemed easy to wait and see what happens than go out and fight for it. That’s very Taurus for me.

Thinking about it, and after looking through all the other Jupiter posts (check out the Jupiter tab at the top of the page) my busiest years, most productive years, and best diet years have been when Jupiter has been transiting the 4th and 10th houses. Why? Because he has been squaring all (well virtually all) of my personal planets. I am challenged. It’s like the Universe has been to Bali and brought me back one of those t-shirts that says “Go to Bunnings, buy some cement and harden the fuck up!”

Jupiter is very well integrated in my natal chart. At 24 Cancer, in the 5th house, he trines my Ascendant, Sun, Moon and Neptune. Jupiter is easy on me. He trines (by sign) Mars and Mercury, and sextiles Uranus and Pluto.

The only challenging aspect is the relationship with Venus (an over-indulging square). With everything else so easy, the over-indulging also is easily justified.

So when Jupiter is in Gemini or Sagittarius he is actually forming tough aspects to each of these planets. It pushes me out of my comfort zone. And with a chart full of easy aspects, that is actually a very good thing.

Anyway, in a way it feels a little like the last splurge before the diet. And with the Moon in Pisces, that may be very well what you are feeling like doing.

I’ve been on a bit of a slow cooking adventure over the weekend following a visit to the local Farmers Market on Saturday morning. The weather here has been perfect for it with the rain bucketing down here in Sydney. If you want to check out one of the recipes, head on over to the and anyways page.
